A Quick Look At Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V Powerful Features

When it comes to technical superiority, it would be fallacious to underestimate Sony’s capability. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V is one of the great gadgets that they have been able to prove that. This camera is not only impeccably made but it also performs and handles very well. In fact, it is able to take great photos under a wide range of situations.

Like majority of its peers, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V is meant to offer more practicality as opposed to style. However, it is still a great looking camera, which is available in either silver or black. It is rather an all-metallic box-like with rounded grip molded on the right side making it very easy to grip. If long-zoom standards are anything to go by, then this is a Small Camera, with dimensions of only 102.9mm x 57.7mm x 28.9mm. In fact, with the memory card and battery loaded, it only weighs 200 grams.

Compared to both the TZ10 and the SX210, this camera is lighter and a bit smaller. However, its specifications are quite impressive since it comes with a 10x zoom lens (DSLR lenses), which has a 25mm wide angle. The sensor is ½.4 inch/7.9 mm 10.2 Exmor CMOS chip. It also comes with a 3.0 inch/7.5cm LCD, which is brilliant.

Another great feature that comes with the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V is the “Sweep Panorama”, which came with the TX1. This functionality goes beyond the normal panorama function found on many digital cameras. Unlike in such cameras where you have to take a single photo then by using an editing program you attach them together, in “Sweep Panorama” all you have to do is hold down the shutter button and swivel to the area you want to capture and it stitches them together resulting to a great panoramic impression.

Other great features that come with the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V include GPS and the capability to take 1080 high definition videos. It also has an advanced stabilization feature meaning that you will be able to take clear images even under extreme unstable situations. Further, this camera also comes with inbuilt storage memory. Unlike the previous models where they included a memory card, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V has an internal memory of 45MB; which allows you to take and save up to 9 high quality photos.

Since this memory is not sufficient for day to day use, you may want to consider buying additional memory. If you are want quality storage memory cards, you may want to consider the high speed card. While using the normal cameras, you will notice that the flash washes out the photos and this affects the quality of photos taken. However, with the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V, the CMOS sensors help manage this sensitivity by up to 2 xs, ultimately reducing noise levels.

Therefore, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V is a great camera since it comes with excellent ultra-zoom capabilities, and yet it is still practical and compact. In fact, if you are looking for a point-and-shoot camera, all you have to do is activate the Intelligent Scene recognition or the Auto Mode. Compared to its major rivals, it is a great value for money.
